Fab Friday 1/30/09

January 31, 2009

What’s up guys? Here is another edition of Fab Friday. Sorry for posting this so late. I totally forgot about. :D At least it’s technically Friday, right?

1. This link is actually to an Etsy shop which is called ripe cards. It sells handmade greeting cards for the mature audience and they are hilarious. :D Here are some of my favs: what… and get better

2. This is an article from the NY Times about a small apartment that is 24 rooms in one due to reconfigurable walls. It actually looks really awesome. And you can also view a slideshow of the apartment.

3. This was a great post about being short. Being about 5’1″ myself, this post was a great find for me. I totally understand what it feels like to be the shortest person in the room. Please read if you are a ‘Lilliputian’ like myself or even if you aren’t. ;)

4. From Knock Out Cosmetics is a new formula of nail polish that is matte instead of shiny. I’m loving it! It comes in black and ivory. The black just looks gorgeous!

5. There has been so much going on about hooping lately, especially from the lovely Gala. Anyway, this post seems like a great place to start if you are interested in this sort of thing. I need a new exercise routine (and by that I mean that I need one period) but I tend to get bored really easily. I’ve been thinking of taking up hooping since it seems so fun!

The First Dance of Mr. and Mrs. President

January 21, 2009

I was just speechless. They looked so in love with each other and so happy to be there. They looked wonderful together and Beyonce sounded amazing. :D I just wanted to share this with everyone.

Fun Weekend!

January 19, 2009

Hey guys! What’s been going on. I had an unusually busy weekend for me. Fortunately it was actually fun. (I haven’t been able to say that for a while.) First, I did get to go to the movies on Friday. I went with my sister to see ‘Bride Wars’ and I loved it! I don’t know why people were complaining about it. It was supposed to be a light hearted comedy and that’s exactly what it was! Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson were both hilarious in it. I would recommend anyone to go see it if you like either one of those two actresses. :D

I also got some shopping done. I really needed a nice winter coat since Georgia just now decided it wanted to get really cold. There was a sale at Old Navy so I decided to haul ass over there. And what do you know? They were having this great weekend sale! I actually found not one but two great coats! And both came to less than $70 because there was an additional 50% off the sale price! I was only going to get one until I saw that sign, then I had to get both. :D I was too excited.

And finally I also went to Columbia to celebrate a friends birthday. We made reservations at ‘The Melting Pot’ which I had never been to before. I have to say that I was really impressed. I really loved it. I had always wanted to go to a fondue place before and I’m really glad that I went. We had the order that came with everything: the cheese course, then salad, then the main course, and then dessert. The cheese fondue and the chocolate were my favorite! I have to go again.

Well, that was my weekend. If you want to see the photos of my coats, just head on over to my Flickr. Any of you guys have any fun this weekend?

Fab Friday: 1/16/2009

January 17, 2009

Omg! I totally didn’t mean to leave this so late in the day. I went shopping then straight to a movie and forgot. I knew I should have scheduled this ahead of time. :D It’s not a big list but all of them were so interesting to me this week. I couldn’t wait until next week when I got more links to show them. Thanks for being to patient. ;)

1. A post by Nubby was so fascinating to me. It’s about Iris Barrel Apfel. Just reading about how she views her style and clothes is amazing. I just wish that the website for exhibit had more pictures of the collection.

2. This desk looks just amazing to me. It’s a great space saver and yet it’s also chic looking. And for those with small spaces, I also notice that it looks small enough to fit in a closet. I think it would be a different take on closet offices. Instead of sitting with your back to the room, you would sit sideways. :D

3. I found a new blog from my Google reader! Amazing thing that. :D It’s called Doe Deere Blogazine and I absolutely love it. It reminds me Gala Darling’s iCing actually. Life advice and fun topics that keep you coming back for more. This is definitely one of my new favs now.

Quotes to Ponder

January 14, 2009

“Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, is is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not rejoice in evils but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” I Corinthians 13: 4-7 NIV
