Thanksgiving Cruise!

December 2, 2010

Hey guys! I’m back! Well, I’ve been back for almost a week now, but it’s been so crazy with me going right back to work and everything. I never had a chance to really update. I finally had time to go through my pictures and put them on my facebook as well as on flickr. If you want to see all of the ones I posted you can go to my flickr account as you can see it to the right. Or here is the link directly to the set for the cruise.

Above is the ship we sailed on, Monarch of the Seas. It’s one of the smaller ships of Royal Caribbean but that was fine with us. It was our first cruise it was probably best to start small anyway. :D We had a great time! The first day we spent just exploring the boat and finding out where everything was. It was a lot of up and down on those stairs, because waiting for the elevator was just torture!

The second day was spent on Cococay. We went snorkeling and on a nature walk. Plus they had a lunch there for us and some shopping as well. The weather was amazing! Not too hot plus nice and sunny. :D Loved it! When we went back to the ship after lunch we just hung out. There were always lots of activities going on and we went to different trivia games that were offered everyday. The first night we went to the Spy Movie trivia game. Throughout the cruise we also went to the Michael Jackson trivia game, the sports trivia, logo and mascot trivia, movie quote trivia game, and more. It was lots of fun and we kept running into the same people at the games. :D

The second day we landed at Nassau in the Bahamas. There was great shopping there and we got tons of free jewelry! Apparently the Bahamas are tax and duty free and the jewelry there is really cheap. I got some earring and necklace pendants. Plus we went to a pirate museum which was really cute. That night on the boat there was a Love and Marriage game show which was very funny. Lots of laughs and not so much for the kids. ;) Plus there is always food available on a cruise! You can eat pretty much 24/7 for free! I had to have gained at least 10 pounds over those 5 days.

The last day was purely a cruise day. There was no docking so we spent it on the cruise eating and playing games and watching shows. It was a lot of fun. Plus we went to the casino and gambled away our money and spent shopping in the shops. It was so much fun that we’ve decided to make it a tradition for every Thanksgiving. We’ve already booked our cruise for next year on a bigger boat and this time we want to go to Mexico. :D I can’t wait!

Potter and Packing!

November 19, 2010

So much is going on this weekend! First of all I went to see ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1″ And may I say that is was amazing! It was great from beginning to end. I’m not going to spoil it for anybody so I can’t say too much, but I was not disappointed at all. Really I’m so impatient for Part 2 to be released now. The whole movie was really just so gorgeous. It’s odd because it’s the first movie that doesn’t happen at Hogwarts at all, it’s all new places to see the characters in. It is a very dark movie, but then again so is the book. But there are some funny scenes to cut back on all the drama. Overall it was an amazing movie and I’m excited to see the next part. :D

Anyway, now that I’ve watched the movie I can spend the rest of my weekend getting ready for my trip! I’ve been getting lists ready and planning for weeks now for my family cruise to the Bahamas. :) It’s going to be amazing! I can just feel it. We haven’t been on a real vacation in a loooooong while, so I’m very psyched up for this. It’s a 5 day 4 night cruise through Thanksgiving.

I just have a few last minute things to do. Finish up the last of the packing, get my eyebrows done, go to the store for a few travel essentials, etc. I just want to get everything done and wake up to Monday morning when we leave for Florida to board. :D This whole week has been going by so slow, it’s been ridiculous. But it’s almost here now! Well, I have to get back to my packing and laundry while listening to my Glee Christmas album. ;) Have fun guys!

November Madness

October 15, 2010

Fall is here! It’s not cold here by any means, but it’s also not blisteringly hot either. Thank God. I like being able to go outside and feeling a breeze, as opposed to melting into the asphalt. :D I may have mentioned this before, but I love this time of year with a passion. It’s just so amazingly beautiful! Everything from the leaves to the fall clothes to the smells.

It’s the middle of October and so much is going on! November is only in two weeks and coming fast! Next month is going to be crazy! First is NaNoWriMo. As always I am participating this year. I haven’t finished one yet, but I refuse to quit! One of these years I am going to manage to finish a novel in one month. Of course this year is going to be made even harder considering all of the things going on. :/

Second on the list is my birthday! I turn a miserable 26 this year. Which means I am only 4 more years to 30. Where the hell did the time go? I want to be 25 forever! Ok, so it’s not that bad really. People say that I still look 16. (Which is good and bad) So it’s not like I worry about aging it’s just that I feel like time has gone by way to fast! I don’t feel almost 26.

And last but certainly not least of the news, next month is also the family cruise! This year the family decided to go on a cruise for Thanksgiving. I’m so excited. We don’t have to cook or clean afterward and no one can try to bribe me into going shopping for Black Friday, because we are going on a 4-night, 5-day cruise to the Caribbean! I’m so beyond excited! I’ve never been on a cruise before so this will be a big first for me. I can’t wait!

I’m Back!

July 15, 2010

Hey guys! I’m back from my trip to Jacksonville. It was a great trip and I was able to see a lot of family that I don’t get to see too often. We didn’t really do anything special, we just had some cookouts for the entire family and we mainly hung out with my aunts and cousins that I am more familiar with. My dad’s sisters were all there (3 of them) along with most of their children (my cousins). We went shopping at a flea market and outlet malls. I got some cute shoes from Charlotte Russe for $10. I abstained from shopping because I’m trying to spend less money right now.

That was about it when it came to our trip. I got a bit of a tan in the Florida sun which was nice. I’m just glad that I’m not prone to burning. We also stopped by Savannah on the way home but it was way too hot to stay long. It was a good thing we left when we did because not 10 minutes later and it was pouring down rain. :D

Anyway, we came back on Tuesday and I spent Wednesday being lazy. I always feel tired coming back from a trip. Is that just me? lol Anyway, today I did some shopping and dropped off some dry cleaning. Finally I went to watch ‘The Last Airbender’. I got some mixed reviews about it, some liked it and some didn’t. I never watched the anime so maybe that’s why I liked it, I don’t have anything to compare it to. Tomorrow I have plans to get my car detailed and maybe I’ll go see ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’. I may as well enjoy the rest of my vacation before I have to go back to work on Sunday. :/

Aside from that I also want to stop by the bank. I’ve officially decided to stop letting my finances getting away from me. I’ve stopped spending as much as I used to and I’ve stopped using my credit cards all together. I’ve payed two of them off all together and I’m working on the rest. It’s just hard to pay off multiple credit cards and a student loan, all with their own interest rates. I’m going to see if I can get a personal loan so I can pay off everything and only pay one loan to pay off. It will make things much easier plus hopefully help to raise my credit score. Wish me luck!

Packing!

July 9, 2010

I’m finally packing for my trip this weekend! We are leaving tomorrow (yeah I know I’m late) for my family reunion down in Jacksonville. I’m just excited to have some time off and do something other than work. Plus it’s the Peach Jam this coming week and I’m kind of glad that I don’t have to work for it. Something always goes wrong or there’s a shortage of vehicles, not something to look forward to in the least. :/

So yeah, I’m packing doing this last minute shopping for things I need. Even so I’m pretty relaxed about it. I’m not really a panicker when it comes to last minute packing. I already knew the basics of what I’m taking anyway. I just need to finish the actual physical packing of it. lol And it’s funny because I really enjoy packing and figuring what to take (until I forget something anyway) but I can’t stand unpacking. I hate it with a passion! But I guess you can’t have the good without the bad.

Anyway, this post also serves to let you guys know I will be AWOL until about Thursday of Friday of next week. The hotel we are staying at is very nice but charges for WIFI so I won’t be taking my laptop. (It needs a rest anyway.) They do have a business center with computers but we’ll have to see if I have any time for posting while I’m there. I’ll try to stay in touch with my twitter account at least: @vivaciousv1114 but I will be honest, I’m not much of a tweeter. lol I always forget to keep up with it, even with an app on my phone. Well, have fun my friends and I’ll hit you up when I come back!
